Professional Me
Hello, my name is Hyeyoung Kim Mahajan. This is my 6th year teaching in an elementary school. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on Elementary Education from Michigan State University. After graduation, I completed a year of student teaching at Pinecrest Elementary School in Michigan. After student teaching, I have taught in different states, including one year in Michigan, three years in California, and two years in Texas. I am currently teaching at Willis Lane Elementary School in Keller Independent School District located in Texas, where I work with wonderful students and supportive staff members.

While I was in California and COVID unexpectedly hit, I was forced to teach my students online. In these circumstances, I was given opportunities to learn about a variety of technologies that could engage and enhance students' learning. This led me to continue my education with a Master's degree focused on Online Learning with Technology. I am aiming to earn my Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in Educational Technology from Michigan State University in the Summer of 2024. I hope to use what I learned through my master's to positively impact the learning of my students.

Personal Me
Outside of school, I like to travel, hike, camp, or even just walk around my neighborhood with my husband when it's not too hot (because I live in Texas)! Even though I love engaging in outdoor activities, I can also be a homebody who enjoys watching movies and sleeping. I'm also a foodie, so I love to try different dishes! Family is an important part of my life, but balancing my work and home schedules has been a struggle. My goal is to create more time to connect with my family.
